The Friday boasts the Group One bet365 Fillies’ Mile as its feature. Contested by two year olds, the Fillies’ Mile has a stunning track record for highlighting equine stars of the future, with recent winners including the multiple Group One winners Minding (2015) and Laurens (2017).
Dubai Future Champions Saturday then delivers one of the most eagerly anticipated racedays of the entire season – featuring no fewer than four Group races on the card.
The main event is the Group One Darley Dewhurst Stakes, arguably the most prestigious two year old race in the world. Contested by colts over seven furlongs, the Dewhurst’s roll of honour is a Who’s Who of Classic winners, with recent alumni including St Mark’s Basilica (2020), Churchill (2016), Dawn Approach (2012) and the legendary Frankel (2010).
Also on the Saturday is the hugely prestigious Cesarewitch Handicap, which serves as the second leg of the traditional ‘autumn double’ alongside the previous month’s Cambridgeshire Handicap.
Run over two miles and two furlongs, the Cesarewitch is one of the most competitive races of the campaign and requires a mix of class and stamina to win it. Jump racing yards tend to fare well in this, with the legendary Irish handler Willie Mullins winning successive renewals in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
