Interesting facts about the Derby at Epsom:
The fastest Derby was recorded in 2010 by Workforce who holds the course record at 2 minutes 31.33 seconds.
The widest winning margin was 10 lengths by Shergar in 1981.
Suffragette Emily Davison was killed when struck down by the Kings horse Amner in the 1913 Derby. There is a plaque in her memory at Tattenham corner.
Alex Greaves was the first female Jockey to ride in the Derby in 1996, there has been two others since – Hayley Turner and Ana O’Brien.
